One of the bigger project I have for the house is to build a breakfast nook in the corner of the kitchen. I wanted some thing small but also useful. Here is the design that i came up with....

The design includes a table, two-legged bench, and a "L" shape storage bench. I also went ahead and came up with a plywood layout. First I started with the table.

Next I finished the two-legged bench, and started on the, "L" shape storage bench. Here is what it looks like so far......

Well here we are. Entering into a new year and a new decade. To me, new years symbolizes a new beginning. No matter who we are, or what we've done, the changing of a year gives us the opportunity to right our wrongs, to reinvent ourselves. It's kind of like the same feeling when you start at a new school across town. In our minds, the upcoming year doesn't know us. To us, the year has endless possibilities. What are you planing to do as you press "restart," for 2010?

Another way men have been had....

So... I was lying in the bed and I was watching a great movie, "A Mighty Wind," when I saw this advertisement.......

I mean really?! All we have as men are hair plugs and hair dye. But women, women can change anything on there bodies. When I was a kid, I remember being dragged to the hair salon with my mom and watching ladies sit in the chair with hair shorter than mine. After about an hour or two, the ladies would have their heads full of long flowing hair that cascaded down her back. That was the moment when I realized how things work. Between hair, make up, and now "booty pad panties," men won't know who they're getting.

There is one thing that is good about being stuck inside. Cookies! Lanita baked some made-from-scratch ginger bread cookies. They were so moist and tasty and filled with all kinds of goodness.

(She also made bread sticks last night.)

Working for a university, produces a great byproduct, I'm on a university schedule. Which means,... FREEDOM TIL 2010. And to make things awesome; it snowed.

Right now it's in the middle of melting. To the point where you feel like you could go traveling. This morning there was a neighbor who felt brave. He lives two houses down, (and by down, I mean, down the hill) made two attempts to journey out. As of this afternoon his car is still down the hill. Last night we made an effort to venture out. For a moment I felt like a bobsledder. The thing about Greensboro is that folks forget all the traffic laws when it snows. Their like, "Do the lines on the street still work?" "What if I drive just as fast I can and mash on my brakes, will I stop the same?" It starts to look like a stock car derby.

One show down!

So tonight was the opening night for, "RENT." Here are a couples couple of photos from the dress run last night.

Designing with CityArts is always fun. Having two load-ins at the same time is always stressful, but all it isn't too bad. Not to mention the band was awesome!

Not Again!!!

Last night we struck all the stuff from the Dance festival. Here is a photo.

Here is the thing, during the 2009 spring semester, we were loading in for the African Children's Choir when one of the students got hurt on the flyrail. It was a big deal and the even the Safety department got involved. Because of that, I revved up all the training and the paperwork the stated what students have been trained on. Well it happened again, A student hurt his finger. (Not the same one) but still! Here is the kicker, we were moving right along. We had moved everything out in record time. Not too fast, but at a great speed. Tomorrow, I have to deal with the paperwork, but at least it wasn't too bad.
